DMA External Beta Test Program
The DMA External Beta Test Program is designed to expose prerelease software
to a wide range of equipment, configurations and real-world usage.
Beta Test participants receive prerelease software and documentation to review and test.
Participants are expected to remain active throughout a project's lifecycle
and communicate issues effectively to DMA's development team.
The benefits of testing Veraterm software products include:
 |
 |
 |
The opportunity to inspect and use an integration product before others |
 |
Positively affecting the future direction of development through your suggestions. |
 |
Competitive development ideas through early involvement.

Your Questions Answered
 |
 |
 |
What is the beta/prerelease program?:
The beta program allows a customer a product preview and discount
in exchange for testing and feedback while the product is still under development.
This program is critical in our quest to provide software that includes useful and stable features.
We believe that the best way to find out what works is to ask you, to involve you in testing,
and to encourage your feedback. The prerelease program is the mechanism
by which we distribute a product before its public launch to technology partners, resellers,
reviewers and key industry executives. The two programs overlap in the sense that
it is often beta-stage software that is distributed to prerelease recipients.
|
 | |
 |
What do I have to do?:
You agree to accept a version that is not ready for release and which may have flaws and
unfinished features. Beta testers install and use the software, specifically to test
new and updated features. You give us feedback on what you like/dislike, what works/does not work,
and anything else you want us to know.
|
 | | |
What does DMA do?:
DMA provides you with the prerelease software and information about what's new and changed.
We may send you updated versions with enhancements and/or corrections.
We will let you know how and how often we'd like feedback, and we will communicate with you
frequently throughout the test period.
|
 | | |
What's the discount?:
It varies by product. A good rule-of-thumb for end-user products is that the
discount is equivalent to the product upgrade fee.
|
 | | |
How do you select program participants?:
We attempt to include a variety of configurations and usage scenarios and
we look for diversity in computer experience.
We also look for users who are willing and able to participate actively in the program.
|
 | |
 |
Are there any agreements to sign?:
Beta testers sign a beta test agreement to participate in this program.
Non-disclosure agreements are also signed for certain products (developer tools, in particular).
Once you have applied and been accepted as a beta tester we will send you the agreement(s) to read.
